Rio-Antirrio Bridge enhances digital tolling with ViaPlus
ViaPlus has modernized tolling and customer management on Greece's Rio-Antirrio Bridge: easier to manage accounts, payments and a richer ePass app.
The project brings together the expertise of ViaPlus and Gefyra, two companies within the VINCI Highways group. Their collaboration demonstrates the value of synergies across the network while strengthening the digital capabilities supporting one of Greece’s key transport links.
At the core of the modernization, the ViaPlus Alpha® solution integrates new technologies to enhance operational efficiency through a scalable back-office platform. It brings together key tolling and customer management activities in a single digital environment, creating greater automation, visibility and flexibility across operations.
The solution supports toll transaction processing, payments, invoicing, reporting and customer communications, while enabling interoperability through the Greek Interoperable Tolling System (GRITS) and data exchange with other interoperability partners. It also includes a new customer website and enhancements to the ePass mobile app, expanding the range of services customers can access independently and supporting a more connected mobility experience.
Together, ViaPlus and Gefyra are contributing to the continued modernization of the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, while creating a foundation for future technology and mobility developments. The project illustrates how collaboration across the VINCI Highways network can combine technological expertise with operational know-how to deliver more efficient operations and improved services for customers.
VINCI Highways is a leading international roadway concessionaire and mobility services provider, managing a 3,750-km network across 13 countries.
